Ryder is 7 Months Old!

IMG_0009[1]

This little man turned 7 months old today! I wanted to make sure that I remembered exactly what he has been doing lately, as he turned 7 months old at 8:41 pm :)

As of late Ryder is:

+ 17 lbs. 15 oz. as of yesterday. About 18 lbs. of chunky goodness!

+ In between 9-12 month clothes and 12-18 month clothes! He is so tall that the bigger sizes fit but are a little wide…but it is better to have bigger clothes than too tight!

+ Sitting up unassisted for as long as he wants. I timed him once a week ago and it was 30 minutes plus. Yay!

+ Rolling over all ways- stomach to back, back to stomach.

+ Starting to get more mobile! When I get him out of bed in the morning he is usually in a different position than how I put him in – on his stomach or trapped in a corner…he is scootsying himself around but not crawling yet! I am SO okay with that :) I have not baby proofed anything haha.

+ Yelling like a pterodactyl. Actually make that Tarzan. He yells so loud and then with his right hand in a fist, he hits his chest multiple times. He loves to do this! I am not kidding.

+ Jumping like a mad man in his exersaucer and my parent’s jumper/exersaucer toy!

+ He LOVES to stomp his left foot. Also, when you hold his hands he sometimes takes little steps.

+ LOVES when you clap for him! I wonder what sport he will play but whatever it is, there better be a big audience…hehe.

+ Blowing raspberries on his Binky.

+ Biggest smiler, period. AND, he loves to smile at strangers!

+ Is the happiest in the morning and the fussiest in the evening.

+ Takes 2-3 naps a day. One around 10ish and another around 1-2ish. Often times he takes an early evening nap as well.

+ Sleeps 11-12 hours a night and rarely wakes in the middle of the night. He goes to bed at 8-8:30 pm and wakes up around 7:30-8 am.

+ At swimming classes, he is an amazing kicker haha. He also gets very distracted by everything and will just check out the little ladies in the class instead of look at me, hehe.

+ Loves to play with tags of the toys/stuffed animals we get him haha.

+ Loves to focus on and try to grab zippers of my clothes and makes a cute focusing noise lol.

+ When he falls asleep, he puts his right arm over his eyes and his left arm up clenching it. I will have to post a picture but it is darn cute.

+ He LOVES his binky and he is too good at seeing it (on the binky holder or near him on the ground, etc.), grabbing it, and getting it into his mouth. He is going to be a binky addict haha! Just like mom ;) I would have 2 in my mouth and a few in my hands…I’m not worried yet about getting him off of it!

+ Hangs out for an hour or so at the gym where I workout in their childcare, 5-6 times a week. He does great! I’m glad he can function without me and around other adults. Let’s hope he keeps it up so he doesn’t have attachment issues for gym childcare or going into our church’s nursery for the first time…hehe. {I was in nursery for a year and a half sooo haha.}

+ LOVES to eat! He gets pretty distracted when nursing sometimes (except morning and night feeding) and eats solids twice a day. For solids, so far he has tried: green beans, peas, mixed veggies, squash, sweet potato, sweet potato/corn, prunes, pears, banana mixed berries, hummus (NOT A FAN- but it was actually much thicker than what he is used to hehe), peaches, and a mashed up banana. Honestly, he eats all of it! At first I thought he loved sweet potato/corn and pears and peaches the best but now he just loves everything! I’m glad he isn’t a picky eater. We introduced veggies first so he has had more veggies than fruits at this point. I am introducing something new every couple of days. So far so good! Oh, and he LOVES rice cereal! That is such a good thing because…I had like 500 oz. of pumped breast milk…and he just barely finished the batch from October lol. Now he is on to November’s milk. Unfortunately, I am probably going to have to wean soon due to my arthritis and health problems (ankylosing spondylitis- arthritis of the spine & may start Humira) and medications that aren’t recommended for nursing mothers :( He will probably be going through that milk faster sooner…My goal was to nurse for a year but I’m starting to be ok with the fact that it probably won’t happen. I have to take care of myself in order to take care of him. {I actually started a very lengthy blog post on my autoimmune disease that I hope to post soon so this will make more sense then.}

LOVE YOU RYDER!
