Keeping Busy

This week has been interesting.
Waiting for a baby when you have everything ready is...torturous? Lol.
But, we have had fun!
And that is all I'm going to say because I feel like I'm complaining
(about waiting for him to arrive!)...
Here are some of the fun things I've done this week:
Of course I workout every day and do random errands and things on our 'to-do' list!

Monday - August 27, 2012 - My Due Date!!!

+ My mom, Hunter, cousin Paige, and I went swimming.
It was actually pretty cold and looked like it was going to rain...but hey, swimming is a great way to fill your time! It feels so good, even when the weather isn't even hot haha! It is perfect for being pregnant because you are comfortable in the temperature but everyone else is freezing haha.
+ It was my pick for Redbox night. Kevin and I try to switch off on "whose pick" it is but usually we forget. The last 2 picks I've done (The Reality of Love and Like Crazy) have been brutally HORRIBLE!!! I highly recommend...neither of them. I decided to go with one I know and trust and we ended up watching The Hunger Games! Man, whenever I watch the preview for that movie, it gets me so pumped up.

Tuesday - August 28, 2012

+ I went to lunch with Lori Croft (who visit teaches me) at Panera with her two cute kiddos (one of which I was over in nursery for months - Katie - she is a doll). We ran into another girl at church, Heather Hartman, and her daughter so we all ate together at Panera! It was a fun time :)

+ My mom and I got our nails re-done and re-shellaced at our friend Mindy's salon! I got the same thing I got done last time...which was 2 weeks ago, and was supposed to be the manicure that stayed great for when I have a baby haha... Then my nails grew out and no baby was here, so we got them done again. I got light pink with sparkles on the 4th finger. The girl who did my nails last time was like "No baby?!" because she massaged the pressure points in my ankle (to induce labor) haha.

Wednesday - August 29, 2012
+ I ran errands with my mom and we ate at Corner Bakery Cafe.
We did some returns at Macy's and later in the afternoon I realized I had lost an earring!
I was kind of in a bad mood since I hadn't had my baby and was like dangit, another horrible thing about my day! I called Corner Bakery Cafe and we went back to Macy's to look for it (we had to go back anyways) and didn't find it. Later when I got home I found the one earring in my jewelry box...
Who just puts on ONE earring?!
That has never happened to me before but what the heck?! Am I going crazy? Sooo my mom made fun of me, laughed, and told some other people about it...pregnancy brain!

+ Also, isn't this the cutest church outfit ever?
My mom bought it and had it wrapped up for me this day!
I hope it fits him otherwise we may have to return since it is a newborn size.
+ Then after work, I convinced Kevin to go swimming with me!
It looked like it was going to rain but it didn't and we got to swim for an hour. He kept wanting to get out (because he was cold) but I made him stay in for an hour haha!
Then afterwards we had FHE and ate our dinner on our 'stoop' haha.

 Thursday - August 29, 2012

+ For lunch, my mom, aunt NaNet, and I ate at this AMAZING French crepe place in downtown Fort Collins. I am now obsessed! We ordered 5 crepes and split them between us. One was a chicken spinach one, another an egg/mushroom/cheese breakfast one, and the three dessert ones were banana sugar one, strawberry nutella one, and a honey raspberry blueberry one. We were all so stuffed but had to try each crepe. That is the most food I have eaten in one sitting in...so long. Afterwards I felt so full since my stomach is so small and then went right to my 40 week appointment at my obgyn...never a good idea to gorge yourself and then go to the doctor because your weight is definitely off!
+ In the evening, Kevin and I went to my parents and watched the Republican National Convention to hear Mitt Romney speak (he's got my vote!) and then afterwards watched the BYU Football game.

Friday - August 31, 2012

+ This morning while working out (treadmill/weights) I watched this week's So You Think You Can Dance. Mitchell from Modern Family (Jesse Tyler) was a guest judge on the show and seriously I can't even handle him. He is too hysterical. I wish I knew him in real life.
+ I had the non-stress test and ultrasound today and both were great! He has enough fluids (16.5) and is NOT in stress haha. He was a crazy man moving all over when we tested! So he passed! Unless he wants to come sooner, I will go in to be induced on Labor Day.

+ This afternoon I caught Katinka sleeping in Kevin's hospital bag.
Poor girl doesn't even know big changes are happening soon!
I hope she is a good 'big sister'!!!
But really, she better be nice.
Too bad she can't come to the hospital haha.
What are you up to this weekend?

We got some good plans, in-laws coming into town, and a LABOR DAY induction coming!!!
This babe is getting evicted ON Labor Day - too funny.

Baby Plans

Here is another photo from our maternity session by Tiffany Rebecca.
See some more shots here!
I will post some more some other time :)

First and foremost, I am still pregnant.
Secondly, we have a plan.

I went to my 40 week appointment today and everything is still looking great. Baby had a heartbeat of 134 beats/minute. I haven't gained any weight. Blood pressure is always low and healthy. Normally at 41 weeks, they do a non-stress test and ultrasound to check and make sure the amniotic fluids are good and baby is still doing great. I'll be 41 weeks on Monday. We are going tomorrow to get the two tests done because Monday is Labor Day and the doctors' offices will be closed then. If he isn't doing so well, they will induce I'm assuming ASAP. If he is doing fine, I will be admitted to the hospital ON LABOR DAY, September 3rd, 2012 at 7:30 pm to get induced. I will be started on Cytotec at night (to soften the cervix/dilate/effacement etc.) and then sleep through the night (may be given a sleeping pill in addition to help). Then in the morning if contractions haven't started (which would be ideal if they did from the Cytotec) then I will be given Pitocin. If all goes well he will be born on September 4th with my obgyn delivering since she is on-call that day. Obviously, I could go into labor anytime, but I have thought for awhile that I would be induced a week after my due date, haha...and that is now the plan...

I just worry about induction since I know there are risks but the longest I could wait to be induced (if he doesn't come on his own) is another week. They won't let you go past 42 weeks but I am getting very uncomfortable and am in pain often and who wants to go 2 weeks past their due date!?!? He is more than ready to come (development wise) but is just too dang cozy in there! I hope all goes well and I don't have to get a c-section (more at risk when inducing fyi) but obviously I'm going to go with the flow and be flexible. I don't have a strict birth plan. In fact, my birth plan is 1. Get an epidural. 2. Deliver a healthy baby...so that is it... I think getting the Cytotec and sleeping through the night is a great idea because you would be more rested for the labor but I'm wondering how I will be able to sleep knowing I will meet my son the next day! Guess we will find out :)

I'm just glad I know what will happen if I don't have him this weekend and that gives me peace of mind!
I can't be pregnant forever!

Anyone have good induction experiences?!
If so, do tell!

Still Waiting...

Yep, I'm still pregnant.
40 weeks and 2 days today.
Well it is practically 3 days now...
Tomorrow I go to my obgyn for my 40 week appointment.  We will see what she says!
I guess if you were wondering if I have had my baby the answer is no and I will let definitely post something when I do.

PS. The photo above is from my maternity session at 34 weeks.
I will be getting the other photos soon-ish and sharing them with you all!

40 Weeks

So yesterday was my due date...
I like how my pregnancy apps let me know...
like really, I didn't even know
"Today is the Day!!"
I'm trying to be okay with it.
Moving on!!!
39 weeks, 6 days.
I look the same as I did there.
I haven't gained any weight or anything the past few weeks.
So, that was a day before my due date when I went to church and everyone kept asking
"When are you due?", "No baby yet?", etc. etc...haha...
Dress: The Buckle
Top: BYU Bookstore
Hairpiece: Forever 21
Bracelets: Forever 21

How Far Along: 40 weeks, 1 days. 3rd trimester. 1 day past my due date (August 27, 2012).
Size of the Baby: Pumpkin, 6-9 lbs, 19-22 inches long!
I wonder how big he will be since he is staying longer than I'd like haha. Obviously if he needs to it is okay but I would love for him to arrive! I hope he doesn't get too heavy/big though!!!
Maternity Clothes: Same old!
Stretch marks: A few on each side of my hip!
Weight gain/loss: 30-31 lbs. I've definitely plateaued the past few weeks which is fine with me because I ended up in the healthy weight gain range (25-35).
Sleep: So the past 2 nights have been...awful. I used to wake up every couple/few hours but the last 2 nights I've woken up every hour! I'm not sure if it is because I have to pee or because of cramps because I've been getting more crampy recently. And also I've been super hot...and my hips and back are so sore when I sleep!!! Not last night but the night before, I woke up so hungry and I decided that hunger was one thing I didn't want to have keep me up (along with the other list of reasons) so I went downstairs and ate some Cheez-its at 4am. Lol. Kevin came down and was like "What are you doing? Are those Cheez-its?" I told him I was hungry hahahaha. So that was funny. Then I had him massage my back a little before I tried to sleep a little which did help.
Best Moment of the Week: Well I'm hoping it will be when I MEET him this week :) And not next week haha.
Movement: Yes he is an active guy. He is moving right now and giving me the sharpest stabbing pains ever! So uncomfortable haha.
Symptoms: Okay so I feel like since Saturday I've been in a little more pain, which I hope means it is time to have our little baby sooner. My lower back has been hurting more than the usual and I learned what a contraction is haha. Sometimes my stomach is harder than other times but it doesn't hurt. My mom touched my stomach when it was harder and when it was softer and told me that is a contraction lol. So I do have them, irregularly, and sometimes with like menstrual like pains or sometimes the menstrual pains are on their own...maybe? The contractions are not painful so it is not like I notice them all the time. If I sit and do nothing (or like go to church) then I notice them more because I am not running around doing 100 things.
Food Cravings: Ehhh I just had a ice cream drumstick which was yummy...OH and watermelon! I wanted some watermelon recently and picked a mini one at the grocery store, cut it open, realized it was yellow, and it was a yellow watermelon! I don't know if I've ever had a yellow one...it threw me off! But it is so good.
Gender: BOY!
Belly Button in or out: It finally came out! Well not all the way, but pretty much.
Anything making you qeasy or sick: Nope.
Labor Signs:  Painless contractions I guess? Back pain? Nothing really...
Wedding ring on or off:  Off.
What I miss:  Getting amazing sleep and not having aches/pains.
What I am looking forward to: Going to the hospital. I've never wanted to go to the hospital so bad haha! Probably the only times in peoples lives when they want to go to one! So funny.
Nursery:  All set!
Emotions: Just getting antsy and having to keep busy! Like I don't want to go crazy here...
Stupid things I have done: Nothing.

Hopefully I won't have to do a 41 week update but we shall see!

I go to my obgyn on Thursday and will do a non stress test and ultrasound to check the amniotic fluids to make sure he is still thriving. I am not sure if we will do that at our appointment on Thursday or if we will go in for a different appointment a few days later and do the testing. If he isn't thriving, they will induce, I'm assuming ASAP. If he is thriving...then I'm guessing they will want me to wait a little longer and induce before 42 weeks, since you cannot go that far...

That is the plan!!!

Back up plan...

Plan A is have him tonight/tomorrow!!!

Today (Due Date!) + Last Weekend + Winning

is my due date.
But instead of talking about it I will show you what went down this weekend.
Annnd hope he comes today anyways :D

Last weekend:

Friday - August 24, 2012

We ate a Brazilian dinner made by my sister (a returned missionary from there) and spent the evening fishing, chilling on the dock, and just hanging out.
Every sunset by this lake is just breathtaking.
Our place.

 Saturday - August 25, 2012

My family and Kevin and I went up to Boulder for the day.
Zach, my sponsored yo-yo'er brother, also the 3rd best yo-yo'er in the US, was competing at the South Central Regional Yo-Yo Contest in Boulder at the Boulder Circus Club (where circus performers really train).
But first, we checked out Patrick's new apartment (he is attending CU) and then ate at a yummy pizza place off Pearl Street.
We then killed some time since Zach wasn't competing until the end of the competition by browsing Rocky Mountain Kids and the 37th Street Mall (Nordstrom Rack & BC Surf & Sport).
Then it was time for the competition.
He was the last to compete in the finals. Best for last!
He got to skip all the rounds prior since he was the defending champion as he won this tournament last year.
But while Kevin and all of us watched the yo-yo'ers prior to him we noticed this lady in a short yellow dress.
She kept bending over to show off her bottom.
I'm not sure if she was wearing underwear (thong?), if so, her hiney definitely ate it.
Kevin, my mom, and I were laughing so hard when we first saw it.
And then it kept happening, again, and again.
We then realized she was trying to show it off.
And let me tell you, it was not a pretty sight.
Kevin got a few pictures and one is even on Instagram.
This is the picture I posted:
"We are at my brothers yoyo competition & this lady keeps bending over in a short dress & we see EVERYTHING. Kevin got a picture. I want to Instagram it but it is explicit hahahaha. See @kevinsloan 's photos to see our view lol."
And then I got 34 comments.
And a lot of people went over to Kevin's Instagram feed (because I tagged it) and saw it too and pretty much we all died.
If you want to get a good laugh or die of grossness check me out on Instagram (ashleysloan7), find the picture above, click on @kevinsloan, and check out his pictures...
Have fun :)
Then Zach competed and did his routine from Worlds (where he placed 3rd best in the US earlier this month).
He dominated!
And won the whole competition again here!
He did so great and every time I watch him compete he just gets better and better.
Oh, and he was on TV earlier this week for yo-yoing haha.
Here is Kelsi & I at the yo-yo event.
Then her and Patrick left to attend Reggae on the Rocks at Red Rocks.
I am just 2 days before my due date here!
Afterwards we celebrated at Wahoo's.
It was delish.
And then we passed out when we got home.

Oh, and I learned how to tell what a contraction is.
I guess I have some, but it is hard to know exactly when they start and end.
But sometimes my stomach does get tighter.
And my lower back hurts and sometimes I'm crampy.

And I've been having more, yesterday, in the middle of night, and today.
But they are super irregular and not very painful so I still think I've got a few days.
We will see...or I'll get induced in a week or so!

Happy Monday!

Cherry Creek + More

Yesterday I was lucky to be invited to spend a day of shopping at Cherry Creek (shopping mall) with my mom and Kelsi.
It was another great distraction that lasted the whole day :)
We first had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen with Kelsi's friend, Mary Fischbuch and her little baby boy. My mom and I split 2 entrees which were delish.
PS. Get the tostada pizza!!!
Kelsi got some glasses from a store in the mall and she looked for shoes as well.
I was on the lookout for a baby blessing outfit for our son and we found some great options.
We got 2 options in 2 sizes (since we are not sure how big or small he will be) and will try them on when it gets closer to his blessing day and see what we think. We actually already have his blessing scheduled for September 30, 2012. He should have been around a month old (if he arrives on his due date- Monday :)) or he may be only a couple of weeks if he decides to come super late haha!
We all browsed Nordstrom - my favorite store ever - and we realized that the Petunia Pickle Bottom 'Boxy' bags now come with magnetic closures!!!
You are probably thinking, so what?
Well, it is a very popular diaper bag and basically the only complaint I've heard is the velcro (which holds the flap over) snags your clothes a lot and is very loud. I was a little worried about snagging some of my clothes and things in general but figured it was a small downside.
But now, they fixed it (just this last month) and just in time for me to return my bag (in a different pattern which we loved) for a newer model which I think will be better.
I chose the pattern above (which is a new one)!
When I posted a picture of my original diaper bag on Instagram (ashleysloan7), me and a ton of other people were talking about that and how you can buy magnetic strips to cover the velcro.
Well, Nordstrom now carries those and they run $20, just in case you were interested!
When we were ordering it, I asked the girl if she could speed up the shipping somehow instead of their usual free shipping and she said "Oh you still have time before baby arrives!"
Then I told her I'm due on Monday and she was surprised and I may or may not receive it before he comes haha. All of his stuff for the hospital is in my old bag so we will have to take that out.

We hit up Baby Gap and my mom got our son this adorable chambray outfit which I think he will probably wear every other day. I love it. You can roll up the pants (& button them up) or leave them down.
We ended up eating a very late dinner at Boston Market and made it home at around 10pm!
Very solid day!

~ One fine evening, okay, Monday the 20th, my family and Kevin and I ate at Taverna!
Taverna is this awesome Greek restaurant in Fort Collins.
My family always orders this goat cheese for an appetizer which they light on fire (picture below) and 75% of the time Hunter gets invited to smash a plate and yell 'Opa'! They let kids do that for fun. And then the employees dance around doing Greek Folk dance and it is hilarious.
I got the stuffed peppers which were amazing.
Then Kevin and I rented Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and unfortunately I fell asleep in the end...but I think it was good haha?

~ Wednesday the 22nd, Kevin and I had breakfast for dinner.
I highly recommend making waffles (with an awesome waffle maker) and adding cool whip (homemade or not) and berries and bananas.
So delish.

+ Here is Katinka earlier today.
Lately our thing is lets play fetch with a golf ball.
So I kick/throw it and she chases it and grabs it with her mouth.
It cracks me.
I mean look at how WIDE her jaw is!!!
Looks SO funny.
We have some more fun plans for this weekend to hopefully distract me that I should be having a baby very soon or even better, possibly put me into labor! I feel like if I don't post a picture on Instagram or blog often, people will think I'm having my baby, so I'm stepping up my game...like this week has been pretty good for blogging haha. Anyways...

 Have a great weekend!!!

PS. 3 days until my due date!

A Taste of Germany: Bohemian Cottage

Tuesday, August 21, 2012 my family, Kevin, and I ventured up into the mountains to eat at this quaint little German restaurant!
My family had just discovered it maybe a month ago and Kevin and I were bummed we weren't able to go with them when they went for the first time, so we all decided to go before baby arrives!
It technically says they have Czech, Hungarian, Austrian, and German cuisine but almost everything on the menu sounded familiar (and I've had) since my grandma on my mom's side (Omi) is 100% German and has cooked us lots of German and European cuisine!
The restaurant is called Bohemian Cottage and it is on the way to Estes Park.
You just head through Loveland on your way into the mountains and it is nestled in the mountains.
We were so excited to eat here!
The whole restaurant is just one room and it is decorated with tons of German things I've seen either in Omi's house or when I visited Germany twice.
I've been to southern Germany (Munich, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Schwarzwald) and northern Germany (Warnemunde, Berlin).
 Mom & Patrick
 Kelsi & Zach
Unfortunately we had bad lighting haha.
Hunter, Kevin, & me
My dad was here but he came a little late so wasn't in these pictures.
Our first round came out...
fresh bread (brot) and spaetzle soup!
I LOVE spaetzle!!!
I ordered Jager Wurst which is basically pork with mushroom sauce, dumplings, and I got a side of spaetzle.
I had Kevin and I pose doing 'Folk dance' poses...
Oh, folk dance!
I highly recommend Bohemian Cottage if you love this type of food!
And if you don't, wow...
The atmosphere and location make you feel like you are in Europe which is always a plus!
And the owners are super nice and have had the restaurant for years (like 20+), are Czech, and cook everything themselves...and the lady was super excited I was going to have a baby so I showed her ultrasound pictures haha.

Auf Wiedersehen!
(sorry, I don't know how to add umlauts (German punctuation))

39 Weeks

Ummm yeah, we are getting dang close to this boy's due date!
The estimated due date is...

If I was a betting woman I would bet he comes after...
38 weeks, 4 days.
Top: Traded with my friend, Cecilia
Skinny Jeans: Clothes Pony
Belt: Target
Hairpiece: Nordstrom
Watch: Asia
 38 weeks, 6 days.
Dress: Target Maternity
Belt: Forever 21
Watch: Asia
Headband: Cherrylane Boutique

& miss Katinka our chihuahua

Not pictured...gold Sperrys...yes I wore Sperrys to church.
Don't even worry about it.
 39 weeks.
Top: Lucky Brand, from The Buckle
Tank Top: Downeast Outfitters
Skinny Jeans: Clothes Pony
Bracelet: Forever 21
Necklace: Not sure...it was a gift. Probably Forever 21?
Earrings: Charlotte Russe

How Far Along: 39 weeks, 2 days. 3rd trimester! As of today there are 5 days until the due date! The due date is THIS Monday the 27th!!!
Size of the Baby: Watermelon, 6-9 lbs, 19-22 inches long!
Maternity Clothes: They are pretty awesome. And good news: I did wear my maternity swimsuit like I was hoping from last week...3 times!
Stretch marks: A few on each side of my hip!
Weight gain/loss: 31 lbs. I didn't gain or lose a pound since my 38 week appointment. I just maintained.

Sleep: It has been alright. I'm sore a lot of places (hips, si joints, back) but I'm able to sleep for the most part minus the pee breaks every couple of hours (annoying)!
Best Moment of the Week: When I got to see our son in another ultrasound :) More on this below.
Movement: Oh yes. He moves all.the.time. and is hurting me sometimes lol. But he has no where else to go so it is fine even though a bit painful.
Symptoms: Just aches/pains but really that is it. I feel pretty well for being 39 weeks I think? I don't know what really is normal but I feel lucky.
Food Cravings: Again, I don't know if I have any. We just ate a bunch of fruit on waffles for dinner (with cool whip of course) which was good and had yummy German food last night!
Gender: BOY!
Belly Button in or out: Sooo Kevin let me know that it has officially popped but I have mixed feelings. Yes it is coming out but it still goes in lol. Take it or leave it!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, although I had heartburn last night which was annoying. Labor Signs:  Nope, like not at all! I guess he has technically dropped if you call that a labor sign. But no contractions that I am aware of.
Wedding ring on or off:  Off. I just wear random rings on my ring finger.
What I miss:  Wearing my wedding band/ring, working out for real, and having less aches and pains but obviously it is so worth it.
What I am looking forward to: Meeting our man...that is what I think about a lot of my time now so I've got to keep busy!!!
Nursery:  Good enough! We got all the essentials. I hope to decorate the walls sometime or do some DIY projects...but we got awesome furniture and the basics. It looks pretty good though.
Emotions: Pretty good just getting a little antsy as we await his arrival.
Stupid things I have done: Honestly not even sure...

* August 21, 2012 - I went in to the Women's Clinic to get my amniotic fluids checked because there was a chance there was a small leak. Oh, and my mom came to this appointment with me! They did a test and I wasn't leaking fluids which is great and they wanted to double check with an ultrasound which was awesome! The last time we had an ultrasound was at 22 weeks so it was great to see him again! It was crazy because we got to see him drinking amniotic fluids and moving his mouth. All of us were laughing so hard because it was hilarious. He kept moving his mouth and swallowing fluids and I think we saw his tongue. The ultrasound tech then asked if we wanted to get a few pictures in 3-D which of course we said yes! From the ultrasound, the fluids were at 16 (not sure what they measure the fluids in) when the average is between 10-20 so we are good to go.

It was a really good thing there was no leak because if there was it could have been bad...if I even suspect a leak or right when my water breaks (if it doesn't before I get to the hospital) I have to call in/come in ASAP because of having Group B Strep.  If you have it and don't come in the baby can get the infection, etc. That is partly why I came in - better safe than sorry. I was going to try and move my 39 week appointment a day earlier and have them check that at the same time but they had me come in right away (I had a 30 minute notice) and kept my appointment for today. It was good to know everything was going well and he was healthy :) His heartbeat was 140 beats/minute.

Here is our son at 39 weeks, 1 day.
PS. On his lip is a shadow...it is normal fyi haha.
And his little profile!
Can see his lips, nose well...
Seeing him again made me feel like I could wait another week being pregnant because that is what I'm mentally preparing myself for haha. Of course, I'd like him out...now but he seemed so content in there just swallowing amniotic fluid! I guess he is just super comfy. Whenever you are ready babe, we are!!!

* August 22, 2012 -  We had my 39 week appointment today and it also went well. His heartbeat was 122 beats/minute which actually is a bit lower than normal for him but when they are sleeping or just chilling it is lower than if they are moving around a ton. I didn't gain any weight from last week so the total is still 31 lbs. gained. I haven't progressed with dilation or effacement so I am the same (1 finger/1 cm dilated and 50% effaced.) We talked about what will happen if I go past my due date (which is Monday). My 40 week appointment is next Thursday, August 30th (obviously if I haven't had him yet.) We will then look into doing a non-stress test and another ultrasound to check the amniotic fluids.  After that, then a possible induction will be necessary. I sure hope he just comes on his own haha. We shall see!!!

Anyone have any good birth stories I should read? :)
Send me some links!!!

Swimming is the thing to do & other things too

So, if you are wondering why I haven't blogged since...Sunday, is not because I've had my baby.
I wish.
{But my friend Karina had her son yesterday!!! So excited for her!!!
Our sons are supposed to be BYU roommates in the dorms...and both athletes...like our husbands
our husbands were like best buds and were each others' groomsmen...
so we have another generation in the works...
if my son ever decides to come...
she was due 4 days after me!
Come on Baby Sloan!!!}
I haven't blogged since I've been busy keeping myself busy, distracting myself, and trying to do fun things.

Last Saturday (photo above), my mom, Kevin, Hunter, and I went swimming at my aunt, NaNet's neighborhood pool with my cousin Paige.
Yesterday, Kelsi and I went swimming for a bit.
Swimming is pretty amazing when you are pregnant.
Often times everyone else is cold in the pool and you are perfectly dandy.
I hope to go tomorrow.
But really, I kind of love the pool these days.

In addition to swimming here and there, I've been doing random things.
What are random things you ask?
Well, I've:

+ Packed my hospital bag
+ Worked out 5 times a week and am still doing that...
+ Ordered water filters for our fridge (will at least last a year)
+ Cleaned our fridge, microwave, and oven
+ Stocked up on shaving cream, lotion, razors, Biore pore strips, q-tips, paper towels, body wash, and more just so I don't have to go to the store after I have my son haha...who knows, I may want a break to go to the store but for now, I've got a little section of backups.
+ Got the Mazda & Jeep's oil changed (& replaced a gas cap for the Mazda...fun!)
+ Got a Colorado driver's license...which took at least 3 hours to do at the DMV
+ Registered to vote...watch out Obama. I'm voting for ROMNEY!!!
+ Renewed Katinka's puppy plan (like health insurance), got all of her shots, stocked up on heart-worm preventive meds and dog food, so she won't have to go to the vet for another 6 months...unless she gets sick (but she never really does)
+ Got Katinka groomed
+ Continuously am washing loads of laundry and doing loads of dishes
+ Organized boxes in the basement haha
+ Cleaned the washer and dryer (like when was the last time I've done that?!)
+ Registered random product warranties...like who does that
+ Used coupons on 95% of the baby products we've had to buy! I LOVE USING COUPONS!!! Also, I check Babysteals.com and Babyhalfoff.com daily. I scored a 2 pack of Aden + Anais burpy bibs and am awaiting their arrival. Someday, I hope to score an Ergobaby carrier on there!!! My friend got hers off their for much cheaper. As of now, we've got most everything, although I think Baby Sloan could use some more socks...oh, and a baby blessing outfit and maybe a white noise machine if we don't acquire a CD or download white noise on our iPod or an app on our iPhones...

And of course some fun things too.
But anyways, I think I will post my 39 week update tonight...after my obgyn appointment or maybe tomorrow. We will see. I'm hoping I won't have to do a 40 week update haha!!!

Happy Hump Day!

Waiting for Baby

Today I practically finished packing my hospital bag.
I finished Baby R's bag and Kevin threw in a few clothes for himself...which I think he will need more, but I'm not going to worry about that right now.
Now that the bags are pretty much packed and I have a list of what I need to grab when the time comes, I'm getting kind of antsy.
I need to keep myself super busy and plan the next week (or so) with fun things so I'm not dying of boredom waiting haha.
Anyone wanna hang out?!
But really, or make anything crafty? I have some ideas...
I packed these socks because they have grippy things on the bottom and my friend Bekah gave them to me for labor and delivery...she is due 2 days after me which is CRAZY!
PS. I am almost 39 weeks pregnant now...I will be on Monday...
Here is a little of what we have been up to while we wait for Baby to arrive!
* Going to youth's baseball games in our ward *
* Drinking Sonic Cherry Limeades at the park *
* Eating at Snooze, the best breakfast restaurant ever.
Here is their 'Breakfast Pot Pie'! *
 * Going on a double date with our friends, James & Laura Neibaur to Spooners and then watching a Bourne movie at their place while downing chips, salsa, spinach dip, and more chips...
Sorry Laura, the picture of us...isn't the best haha *
 * Eating at Cracker Barrel with my family. You may think this food looks gross but let me tell you, it was pretty dang good. And afterwards hitting up the outlets (Polo Ralph Lauren & Carter's) *
 * Getting a pedicure/manicure with Kelsi at our friend Mindy's nail salon. I may or may have not told this lady to massage my pressure points to induce labor haha...didn't work *
Mindy did Kelsi's nails and I got one of her co-workers. We got shellac on our fingers and fun colors on our toes...of course I got blue because I am having a BOY! Watch him come out a girl...haha.
* Taking Katinka to get her shots, etc. at Banfield Pet Hospital. Poor thing didn't know what was going to happen! When they took her in the back to get her blood work done they also tried to take a fecal sample. She declined by screaming loudly and refusing, somehow haha...we got everything we needed done for probably another 6 months so that is good! *
 * Hitting up our old neighborhood pool (Huntington Hills) for Hunter's friends moving away pool party. My mom, Zach, and I tagged along and swam and I ate this yummy ice-cream treat. We stayed longer and my mom came back with plums and cookies haha.
Here is my blue pedicure and it was so nice, the pool was like not crowded at all!
* Lady and the Tramp'ing with Katinka. Kevin and I had spaghetti last night and I shared a noodle with Katinka so I call it Lady and the Tramp'ing. So funny. *
 * Also hanging out with some couples from church (Michael & Bekah Wilkey and Frank & Sarah Herrera) watching Iron Man 2 while eating popcorn and cheesecake. Apparently we are crazy since we haven't seen Captain Planet, some other movie relevant to The Avengers, and The Avengers...so maybe we will soon! *
* Buying lemonade and cookies from my cousin Paige and brother Hunter's lemonade/cookie stand (& one of their friends) *
And today we had another pool day and officially got the code so we can use my aunts pool whenever we want! Hallelujah!

When will our little boy arrive?!?!

Anyone have any ideas of cheap, fun, or any kind of thing to do to keep me busy while I wait? Hehe.
