Ryder's Life: Week 10

November 12 - November 18, 2012

November 12 - Monday: Kevin left on a business trip to Indiana today. I hung out with the babe at home, went through clothes to sell, and in the evening we hit up Centerra with mom, Zach, and Hunter. We ate at Rock Bottom and had some bacon mac'n'cheese! We also got our eyeglasses adjusted at Lenscrafters and it was the worst experience ever! My glasses were sliding down my nose and when I left...they were still sliding down my nose! The lady who tried to adjust mine and my brothers glasses was like super annoyed we wanted our glasses adjusted. It was quite possibly the worst 'adjustment' ever. She said she couldn't tighten the nose pads because then my eyes would be in the wrong part of the glass. She also tried to tighten the ear things and she tightened them so much it squeezed into my head. She also said not every ones ears and head shape are symmetrical so it was my head which is why my glasses didn't feel right... She also jacked up my brother's glasses. A week later I got them adjusted at a nice store in Cherry Creek and they did it just fine!!! Moving on hehe.
Cutie in the Bumbo!
Also, my brother Zach took this photo of Ryder later that night. Cute smile!

November 13 - Tuesday: Ryder and I had an early morning so I decided to start reading Baby Wise which my friend Lori let me borrow weeks ago. Too bad I didn't start reading it earlier haha. Basically it helps you know how to get your baby on a routine so they can sleep through the night. Regardless, I think he would have started sleeping through the night soon anyways since I already knew the concept (eat, play, sleep, repeat).
We went to group...
Love this hat and love his bubble creation ha!
Afterwards we went to Gap Kids, Pier 1 Imports, and Crazy 8. We went to my parents for dinner and Kevin got home that night from his business trip in Indiana.
Sleepy Ryder!

November 14 - Wednesday: Ryder and I went to get my retainers checked at the orthodontist. We hit up Target and did a lot of stuff at home. Kevin and I had enchiladas for dinner and not sure what else went down.

November 15 - Thursday: I hung out at home all day getting things done and at night Kevin had a coaches meeting. He is the Stake Athletic Director for our Stake (church). Meanwhile, I printed and folded the ward bulletins...and it took like an hour haha.

November 16 - Friday: Kevin left on another business trip this week to Arizona. I went to a mom group in the morning and had lunch with my mom at Cafe Rio. I finally hit up Plato's Closet and the Clothes Mentor to sell some old clothes. I had been going through my closet for a couple of weeks and washing the clothes to sell. Kevin also went through his stuff so we had 2 huge boxes. It was probably my most successful sell since I came away with a little over a $100! Not bad!
Here we were waiting for them to go through the clothes.
Outside Plato's Closet.
Afterwards, we hung out the parents, I read more of Baby Wise, and we ate dinner at Smashburger.
I love their chicken sandwiches!
Me and Hunter.

November 17 - Saturday: Ryder and I hung out at home for most of the day. Kevin was still out of town. We went to Jason's Deli with my family and afterwards got groceries. One thing that is annoying is that the Chicco carseats don't fit in the front of grocery carts. One thing I LOVE about them is that it is like the safest car seat. Anyways, if you want to buy a lot of food there isn't really much room in the cart so I put him in the Moby Wrap. I don't use it that often so I guess he isn't used to it but the second we got in he started crying and there was nothing I could do since he was in their so tightly lol. I tried giving him a binky but it was hard to do because he was so close to me and he kept turning his head back and forth, left to right. I got the binky in and ran around the store grabbing random things because he wasn't really liking it haha. Sooo that was an experience.

November 18 - Sunday: So Kevin and I are in a different ward than my parents even though we live a mile and a half away. It feels like Utah! Anyways, ours meets at 8 am and my parents meet at 10 am. Since Kevin was out of town I decided I was going to their ward and boy what a difference does 2 hours make! It is so much better! While we were in sacrament Kelsi (my sister who goes to school at BYU in Provo) walks in. She had just got in from a flight (for Thanksgiving week) but wanted to attend most of church. It was cool because she hadn't seem him since his blessing in late September!
In the hallway we found my friend Rebekah and her baby Carmen.
Ryder was such a little flirt! He was all smiley looking at her!
Next up: Week 11, maternity photos, Ryder's baby blessing, and hopefully I will get caught up so I don't have to do these weird weekly posts (honestly don't like the format)!

So Close, Little One

A few Saturdays ago - November 17, 2012 - Mr. Ryder almost got his binky into his mouth...
just missed and got his nostril, hehe.
He is getting pretty skilled at holding his binky - which he loooves - and moving it around with his little fingers. He was 10 weeks here. Anyways, just love this little guy and think these pictures are funny.

Ryder's Life: Week 9

November 5 - November 11, 2012

November 5 - Monday: My mom and I had a little Cafe Rio lunch. I love that place and love that it is only a few miles from our house! Come on my Utah friends, move out here...we got Cafe Rio and of course me ;) Love this salad.
Afterwards we went and got a few copies of Ryder's birth certificate and ran some errands. For dinner, we ate at my parents with the missionaries from their ward. It is always fun eating with the missionaries! Whenever Kevin and I get those free Redbox codes...we use them. I never know what to get so I see something and just quickly get it. Often times the movies I choose, suck...so what we ended up getting was Rock of Ages (Kevin chose, I made fun of him, it was super lame, and we turned it off...I am not a musical fan lol) and October Baby (which I watched through night and morning feedings). Interesting movies!
Cutie for the day!
On a side note, Ryder found his hands and he is obsessed with eating them.

November 6 - Tuesday: This day was super productive. I cleaned all day - laundry, kitchen, everything. I love when our house is clean but I swear each weekend it goes downhill.
After Kevin got off work, he gave Ryder a bath and Ryder laughed for the first time, like a real laugh! It was so cute!
Afterwards, we went to an election party at my parents...the wrong person won...I'm still depressed that Mitt Romney lost. America definitely is missing out.
A bracelet for the occasion.
You better believe Kevin found our American flag and wore it and used it as a blanket for Ryder!

November 7 - Wednesday: I met with my lactation consultant, my mom and I ate lunch at Schlotzskys, and Kevin and I took Ryder to his 2 month well check-up and his first round of shots!
Here is an awkward shot of us before the round of shots!
Poor little guy! No parent likes to see their baby get shots! Afterwards he was pretty sad. His cry was different than it ever was and so pathetic! His legs were pretty sore so whenever we picked him up or held him he would cry.
Ryder weighed 12 lbs. 12 oz. and was 23 1/2 inches tall, 65th percentile for both height and weight!

Mindy, my mom, and I had a girls night, except Ryder was invited, so Mindy could meet him. We ate at Olive Garden! Afterwards we went to the mall for a bit.

November 8 - Thursday: I hung out at home, did laundry, and went through old clothes to sell/donate.
At night, I went to a Relief Society dinner with my mom.

November 9 - Friday: My mom and I had a lunch date at Fiona's which we didn't really like the food haha. That was a bummer. Then we used $10 off a $10 purchase coupons at Kohls and I got Ryder some short-sleeved onesies for our Brazil trip.
Kevin and I had a fun date night! We went and applied for a passport for Ryder...
Here is Ryder getting his photo taken.
I just about died watching this, hilarious.
Then we hit up Crazy 8 and Children's Place and got Ryder some more shorts and short-sleeved tops for our trip to Brazil (why we got the passport - still can't believe babies need passports!). When we get there it will be in the dead of summer and all he has in his size right now is warm clothing! Thank goodness we found a few summer items here and there on clearance at these stores (but no swim trunks!)
Kevin and I used our Livingsocial deal and ate at Nordy's Barbecue.
We got this amazing feast for 2! Kevin was a fan!
Afterwards we rented Snow White & the Huntsman...and I fell asleep so not sure what that was all about!
November 10 - Saturday: I got my haircut in the morning and then afterwards we took Ryder to his first trip to Denver! Why? To go to Ikea! We worked on a kitchen design for our kitchen/main level remodel and will have to go back to finalize it and also after we figure out our appliance dimensions but within the year (hopefully less than half) we will have finished the whole main level!

November 11 - Sunday:We went to church as usual, I got visit taught, we put up our Christmas decor, and had dinner at the parents!

Happy Weekend all!

Ryder's Life: Week 8

Here is Week 8 for ya!

October 29- November 4, 2012

October 29 - Monday: This was the magical day! The day where he was able to nurse without pumping and the whole routine (w/o the shield)! I was honestly starting to think about quitting...getting him to learn how to nurse because we were really running out of options. I was never able to leave the house without an insane amount of work and only for a tiny amount of time. I was also getting no sleep at all. I could write a novel on this whole experience haha! I'm so glad I was stubborn and didn't give up though! I'm so thankful for Kevin who woke up every couple of hours in the middle of the night with me to feed him a bottle while I pumped (and after I did physical therapy and tried nursing 10-20 minutes). I'm also thankful for everyone who came over and helped with him. I'm so glad I had an amazing lactation consultant, Becky, because without her I would be clueless and probably would have given up a long time ago and gave him formula!
Anyways...that was the highlight of the day! But in the morning, my companion and I visit taught both sisters (church thing) and then at night Kevin and I went to the pumpkin patch with my family.
Here is Ryder all bundled up!
And Ryder went in the Moby Wrap!
We met up with my family there after they went through the haunted corn maze.
They got a few pumpkins and then we decided we didn't want to buy one because we didn't know when we would carve it so...yes we are lame haha!
Afterwards we went to my parents for some hot chocolate!

October 30 - Tuesday: Ryder and I went to a super cute Halloween Party at MCR put on by Becky, my lactation consultant. She stayed up super late making cute Halloween treats and foods for all of us girls and our babes. Ryder dressed up as, surprise, a tiger! Haha. I have some photos Becky gave me but I don't think I have permission to put any on the blog since we had to sign release forms to be in them. But, they are cute!
Ryder is all smiles!!!

October 31 - Wednesday: Halloween!!! I had a doctor appointment, met with my lactation consultant, and did a lot of impulse buying at Target haha! We ate dinner at my parents and then went home to greet trick or treaters! You'd better believe Kevin was blasting our 2 CDs of Halloween music for all of the trick or treaters! Think that is about it...

November 1 - Thursday: Sooo this day I think I was sick...by the way, I know what happened for these dates because I am obsessed with my planner and usually write down what goes down or what I want to do that day!

November 2 - Friday: My mom and I went to lunch at Firehouse Subs. I ran errands and hit up Babies 'R' Us, Target, JCPenney (had a free $10 coupon...love those!), and Ulta. Running errands with a baby (car seat and putting in and out of shopping carts and random feedings in the car) is a lot harder! Anyways, it was a productive day!
I'm pretty sure he had a blowout in this outfit, this day, if I remember right lol.
I love his facial expressions!

November 3 - Saturday: RYDER turned TWO...2...months old this day!
Can't get over him.
And unfortunately I have no clue what we did...
Apparently he chilled in his diaper!

November 4 - Sunday: We went to church and it was my first week of doing the ward bulletin (success)!
Kevin and Ryder chilling watching some football!
In the evening we went to my parents for dinner and Hunter wanted Ryder to try on his glasses.
So cute.
I'd say there is a good chance Ryder gets glasses early.
I have the worst vision.
I got glasses when I was 2-3 years old, cute, little ones with Mickey Mouse on the side!
Anyways, my vision is always changing so I'm not a good candidate for lasik.
Plus, I've gotten weird bad eye infections, one of which I could have gone blind.
That was the worst eye infection ever!!!
Anyways, he may be a little glasses boy! We shall see!
The boys watched football and here is proof Ryder watched a bit.
This was a very solid first week where I was able to get out of the house and do things without being a slave to the pump! SO EXCITING!
Next up: Week 9, maternity photos, Ryder's baby blessing & weekend...and more!

Ryder's Life: Week 7

It is not even funny how behind I am on this little blog of mine.
Ryder is currently 12 weeks as of today!
He will be 3 months old next week!

Here goes!

October 22- 28, 2012

October 22 - Monday: Ryder and I visited my friend Laura Neibaur and hung out at her house this day. We had yummy pumpkin soup for dinner with her and her kiddos :) Meanwhile, Kevin was in LA for a business trip.
He wore this cute cardigan Laura got him!

October 23 - Tuesday: See What Ryder Likes To Do
Also, we went to Group at MCR this day!
We worked on his tummy time since he hasn't been a big fan.
Kevin came home from his business trip in LA!

October 24 - Wednesday: We had an appointment with Becky, our lactation consultant. Ryder was still struggling with his suck! I voted this day and you better believe I voted for Romney! (Still mourning about the outcome...like can't get over it.) Ryder was just the cutest thing in this outfit I love! He loves his play mat!
In between feedings I set up our Halloween decor.
Here you see some super ghoul skeleton lights.
Unfortunately I guess I didn't take any pictures of all the decor up...just this close up haha!
We actually have a lot of Halloween decor compared to other holidays!
My dad hooked me up while at BYU one year and we decorated my apartment with it (he came around the holiday) and then Kevin and I scored some from Walmart last year on sale after Halloween was over.
We had FHE this evening which consisted of hitting up Sam's Club, me running into Ann Taylor Loft to buy a top that was 50% off (they were having an awesome sale and I had been wanting the top), and watching a General Conference talk.
One of our many great Sam's Club purchases was these tomatoes. I eat them like candy!
October 25 - Thursday: Some ladies from church came over to check on me and it snowed...and I don't know what else we did...haha.

October 26 - Friday: Ryder and I went to a mom group where we all hang out with our babies haha and then went to a physical therapy appointment for his suck.
At night, Kevin, Ryder and I hit up the Ward Halloween Party. We ate chili and some yummy rolls and had a variety of desserts. I just remember the rolls because Kevin kept going back to get more haha! Ryder was a tiger for Halloween. 1. Because I couldn't find anything in his size at most stores. I found a few costumes but they were ugly. 2. I finally found this one piece outfit at Target and it was comfy and it was cheap so it was just perfect.
He has the most hilarious face here!
My little tiger! The cutest tiger I say!
And I didn't know what to be so I thought why not wear a cheetah print top and I can be a cat too haha! Kevin dressed up as himself aka he was lazy, haha!

October 27 - Saturday: We had a productive day at home and then for dinner we went over to our friends, Michael and Rebekah Wilkey's and had some yummy homemade chili! We watched a scary movie which I forget what it was called...and guess we didn't get any pictures! Rebekah has a baby girl, Carmen, that is 5 days older than Ryder so that is very fun :) Ryder was due 2 days before her but wanted to bake a little longer and come a week late haha!!!

October 28 - Sunday: We went to church and I got sustained as the Ward Bulletin Specialist aka I make the ward bulletins each week. I also got visit taught this afternoon and I think that is it!!!
Love bringing him to church!
Next up is Week 8...the week where things got a lot better ;)

What Ryder Likes To Do

He loves to kick his legs, hold his legs up, make fists with his hands, smile, and just be dang cute ;)
Can't get over him!
Also, I love his belly.
{This was at 7 weeks so he is doing more now}
