Hike to Horsetooth Falls

P1100880
So last Friday (June 24, 2011) after Kevin got off work we drove up to the Horsetooth Mountain open space (near Fort Collins) to hike up to Horsetooth Falls! My mom, brother, and some youth from our church hiked it the week prior and I had been wanting to take Kevin on a hike so we decided to do the one my mom knew about. It was a shorter hike and I thought it would be fine since we haven't really been hiking ever since we were married and we should start out easy.  I have a lot of hikes planned for this summer! I grew up in Colorado and we went on hikes when I was younger, usually whenever we'd go camping in the mountains, so I thought since we are living here now I should take Kevin on some. We went to school in Utah (BYU) and didn't take advantage of all of the things you can do there so I am determined to take advantage of the outdoorsy stuff here!
SO, we picked up some McDonalds on our way to the trail-head, ate it there, and started our hike! I love little picnics...however I do not love McDonalds. I didn't plan ahead very well so we realized it was the only fast food place on our way and had to stop there to grab a bite for dinner! We left Katinka at home for this hike since there were rattlesnakes when my mom and brother went but we will be bringing her on some soon!

Here are some scenes from our hike!
Starting on Horsetooth Falls Trail and do you see my shirt?
It is a Baseball College World Series one with all of the college teams who made it to the CWS...I LOVE IT! Okay, yes, I fell in love with Baseball since Kevin played collegiate baseball for BYU. I got it at the tourney HERE. And pardon my whiteness.
P1100877
P1100878
Has anyone ran hiking trails? Kevin and I had started hiking and came across a couple in love and it is always awkward to walk RIGHT behind people so we decided to run for awhile and pass them. Kevin asked me "What happened to my Ashley?!" Since he knows I don't love to run, but I try and it was my idea! So we ran for a little bit and I got a side ache but at least we passed the couple haha.
 P1100898
We hiked for a mile and a half and got to the falls! Okay, for some reason the waterfalls look smaller in this picture than they really are. And they kind of look pathetic ha. But at this time of year I guess they are smaller.
P1100895
I wanted to hike on Saturday but Kevin had something to do in the morning so we decided to go after work on Friday. This meant that we started our hike around 6pm after our picnic. We were originally going to hike just 3 miles round trip to this little waterfall but when we got there I decided to extend our hike. I didn't want to go back the way we came...so I added 2, 3, 4 more miles on...not really sure...and came back a different way! The whole time I was worried it would get dark and I didn't want to get lost in the woods with just my teeny camera! That light could not lead us out of the forest! So our rather enjoyable hike was more of a frantic walk, haha.
P1100912
P1100914
We were hiking along and saw this deer. I started taking pictures really far away and then as we kept walking closer it didn't run away! So we got pretty dang close and Kevin may or may not have threw a rock at it which hit the deer.  The deer may have not moved at all. Okay, no one go all PETA on us. Kevin is a hardcore hunter. Any who, it was cool because we came across more deer as well!
P1100928

Do you see that lake? It is Horsetooth Lake and popular for boating, wake boarding, water-skiing, and all that fun lake stuff!
P1100931
And here is the end of the hike. Do you see all of the houses? It'd be crazy to live in one of those.
P1100932
Anyways, have a great Wednesday!

Anddd...I am excited because there are some fun things happening this weekend/next week on my blog.
A few features and a GIVEAWAY on Saturday! Stay tuned!

Jimmer Night

So if you don't already know, we are JIMMER fans.
 Jimmer-Fredette2
AND...
a little on the NBA Draft...
Jimmer was picked 10th by the Milwaukee Bucks, and then traded to the Sacramento Kings!
He is no longer a BYU Cougar but a King!
Guess that tells my family which jerseys we will be buying next.

And...here is a little (okay a lot) of proof we had & still have Jimmer fever.
+ We made our appearance at the BYU vs. SDSU game HERE
+ We rock out to "Teach Me How to Jimmer" (Dougie) HERE
+ Both Kevin and I have a Jimmer stickers on our car HERE
+ I will brainwash my future children to sing about him HERE
+ Jimmer wears my dad's hats (dad's hat company- Zephyr) HERE

And of course I follow him and his girlfriend on Twitter!
So that sounds kind of creepy, but hey I'm just a BYU sports fan! & Alumni.
Okay that is all.

PS. Let's be Twitter friends, if you'd like...find me HERE (or I'm @Ashley_Katinka) and let me know when you follow what your username is so I know it is you :)

Plank much? Our version of Planking!

Planking, as defined by one of the trustiest sources I know, Wikipedia, is:
"The lying down game (also known as planking, or face downs) is an activity, popular in various parts of the world, consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location. The hands must touch the sides of the body, and having a photograph of the participant taken and posted on the Internet is an integral part of the game. Players compete to find the most unusual and original location in which to play. The location should also be as public as possible, and as many people as possible should be involved."

You are probably thinking...What The Freak?!
Agree much.

A few weeks ago I heard about planking for the first time. I told my family in the car as we drove to dinner what it was. Patrick (one of my brothers) was the only other person who had heard of it. So, we pulled into a parking spot, got out, and started to walk into Cafe Athens. Then we noticed...
Hunter PLANKING!

IMG_0986
This was probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen because:
a) Hunter just spontaneously did it,
b) Hunter is 9 years old,
c) He didn't tell us he was going to plank, and
d) He planked in front of zero human beings.
...he was lying face down in front of a restaurant and a parking lot that was pretty much empty. As soon as he stood up, a few people walked into the restaurant, so he just barely missed them.
[The opposite goal of a hardcore Planker]

We quickly took some pictures with our iPhones as he lied there face down.
Funniest. Thing. Ever.
{Maybe just for my family...but really now!}
Then we ate gyros from Cafe Athens and Kevin discovered one of his new favorite restaurants!
IMG_0987
The last time I had eaten there was with my mom. It was awkward because we were both sitting there just enjoying our meal when the server came over and said a man offered to pay for our meals. We asked "Who?" and the server said "He chose to remain anonymous." We snuck out the back door because it was awkward and we were both married hehe.

And the Sloan way of planking...
n550563055_667821_1868
Have you ever been to the dollar theatre in Provo, Utah?!
If so, we lied on that floor...right outside of the ticket office!!!
{Picture above}
Why? We were in a scavenger hunt and had to get a picture of us spooning in a public place! I'm sad I don't have this picture in a bigger file...this was when Kevin and I were dating, not even engaged yet! It was awkward because there were a ton of people around...and we were lying on the nasty floor where there was old gum smashed on the floor and whatnot. If you have been there you know that hundreds of people stand on that ground every day to get a cheapo dollar ticket!

Have you ever planked?!
If so, I want to hear about it and see your picture or video!!!

PS. I started a new job today.
And PPS. I am going to Kansas City, Missouri this weekend! :)

Red Velvet Pancakes

So on Thursday, my mom, Patrick, Hunter and I ventured out to the restaurant Snooze in downtown Fort Collins. Let me just tell you I LOVED IT! There were too many good options to pick and my mom and I couldn't so we got two entrees and split them. We got a breakfast burrito and...
RED VELVET PANCAKES!
Let me tell you. These are amazing.
Red velvet pancakes + cream cheese frosting + praline sauce + pecans = my favorite.
photo(1)
From this experience, I am definitely already a big fan of Snooze and have decided to go back soon! It is only open until 2:30 though so breakfast or lunch is what you get! Not only do they have red velvet pancakes but they also had pineapple pancakes, key lime pancakes, sweet potato pancakes, and more. They also had stuffed french toast with bacon, nutella, and peanut butter cream cheese frosting...I think my husband wants to try that one!
Here is a recipe I found online for Red Velvet Pancakes since I couldn't get the recipe from the restaurant! Source HERE.

Special Cooking Equipment Needed: Electric Griddle or stovetop griddle
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Yield: 4 servings (3 pancakes each)
Ingredients:
  • For Pancakes:
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 8 ounces buttermilk
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons red liquid food coloring
  • Extra butter or nonstick cooking spray
  • For Cream Cheese Glaze:
  • 4 ounces low-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk, if needed

Preparation:

  1. Preheat a griddle to medium-high heat. In a bowl, use a whisk to combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, then add the milk, buttermilk, butter, vanilla extract, white vinegar and food coloring, whisking to combine completely. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Brush a little butter or spray nonstick cooking spray on the hot griddle, and spoon batter into the desired sized pancakes. Cook until bubbles form in the batter, the edges are dry and the underside is lightly brown, about 5 minutes, then flip over and cook the other side 1 to 2 minutes more. Repeat as needed until all of the batter is used.
  4. As pancakes cook, make the cream cheese glaze: In a small bowl, use a fork to stir together the cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Add a little milk if needed to make a glaze that has a thin enough consistency to drizzle.
  5. To serve, stack three pancakes on a plate and drizzle cream cheese glaze over them.
I have not tried this recipe so don't hate on me if you mess it up :)
But let me know if you try it and your thoughts!
Have a great Sunday!

We Love Surprises: College World Series

So in my family we often surprise each other.
Like flying on a plane and showing up somewhere completely unexpected to see someone, kind of a surprise.
    1. For instance, one time when I was at BYU my dad booked a flight for me to surprise my mom for Mother's Day. My dad had me hide in our detached garage with my luggage and had my mom come in to look at something. Then I screamed "Surprise!!!" when she came around the corner and she screamed and was seriously scared! Mission accomplished.
    2. Another time, Kevin surprised me by coming home a day early from his summer baseball team in Albany, New York. See the surprise HERE.
    3. This one time my dad and I were in Orlando, Florida for a business trip HERE. We were going to fly home to Colorado June 17, 2011 but we decided a day or two before that we should look into plane tickets to Omaha, Nebraska. Kevin was there for the Baseball College World Series (CWS) working for Zephyr. His parents and sister Anna actually were meeting him there for the weekend to watch some games and hangout with him when we wasn't working.  So, my dad and I found the cheapest flight and we booked it! We left Friday June 17 from Orlando and had a layover in Wisconsin for 5 hours. Milwaukee probably has the most boring airport we decided. I bought Water for Elephants to read after I finished The Host, which I read for most of the layover.
Anyways, we landed in Omaha and checked in, at the same hotel as Kevin. There were only two rooms left in that hotel and the rates were crazy since it was across the street from the Ameritrade Park.
     IMG_1167
Mike (my uncle and Zephyr employee) told us where Kevin and his family was so we could surprise them. They were all at the opening ceremonies at the Ameritrade baseball park.  My dad and I found them and I was so nervous to surprise them! Finally, the whole audience was facing one way watching something on the field and then I popped out and started waving at them! Anna (Kevin's sister) saw me first and was shocked and Kevin ran over to say hi! Kevin was so surprised and happy! He immediately asked me what I was wearing (a HARRY POTTER shirt) haha. My dad was also wearing one too. We wanted to embarrass him lol. He is not a fan of Harry Potter although he has never even read any of the books or seen a movie!
[More on the Harry Potter theme park HERE]
Here is a statue from the old Rosenblatt Baseball Stadium where the CWS always was before the Ameritrade Park was built. This was the first year where the CWS was at the Ameritrade Park.
    IMG_1171
So we surprised them, ate food, and watched fireworks. We only stayed until Saturday night when our flight was so it was a busy weekend. We watched some of the first CWS game which was Vanderbilt vs. North Carolina.
Anna, me, & Kevin sporting our Zephyr branded Snapbacks
    IMG_1180
    IMG_1176
Then my dad and I gave out free hats and stickers to people wearing Zephyr hats and took pictures of the people for the Facebook fan page and Twitter. I love doing those kinds of things- approaching people and giving them stuff or working booths hehe.
Here are some pictures of some Zephyr fans we talked to :)
And apparently one guy is throwing a gang sign so don't judge ha.

So that was our BIG surprise for Kevin and his family! So. Much. Fun.

    Calling All Fashionistas!

I just recently got this skirt from ZARA in Orlando and I am wondering if YOU have any ideas on how to complete the outfit! :) I want to wear this to church and then whenever because I love wearing skirts and dresses everyday. I am thinking some kind of flowy shirt tucked in because the skirt I got has kind of a high waist! I could maybe wear some gladiator sandals or maybe my Jessica Simpson wedges.Note: My skirt is in orange and on the website it says this is orange but I feel like it is yellow. So pretend it is a little more orange :)
     0881042643_1_1_3
I had actually pinned a few look alike skirts on Pinterest before I got this skirt so here is some inspiration!
    24873300_9yBqOFp5_c
    42501798_9wGoR5hK_c
I think my skirt is more this color however I wouldn't show my stomach and if my skirt was this see through I would wear a slip ha. I love the belt with it though! I do like navy with it but growing up in Colorado I always think of the Denver Broncos when I see orange and navy! Maybe that doesn't matter though because I bet if you are not from Colorado you might not think that? Haha.

Take a look at some other long skirts here!
PS. Let's be Pinterest friends! Go HERE and I'll take a look at your pins! Who doesn't need the inspiration!?
THANKS & have a great day!

    Father's Day!

    Happy Belated Father's Day!
    to my dad, David Gormley
my father in law, Greg Sloan
Kevin as a future father, Kevin Sloan
and my grandpas, Elray Jenkins & Wesley Gormley.
Here are 3 Father figures in my life on the day of my wedding:
L to R: David Gormley (my dad), NiKol, me, Kevin (future father), Kathy, & Greg (father in law)
    Sloan0808__044
I love my dad SO much. Here are some daddy daughter dance pictures from my wedding:
    Sloan0808__471
    Sloan0808__472
Let me tell you about my dad:
-His name is David Lewis Gormley.
-My dad is selfless and is always helping others. He barely has time for himself, ever.  He is a hard worker, always. He wakes up earlier than anyone because he has things to do and stays at work all day running his own company. He serves our family SO much and is the perfect example of service.
-David owns Zephyr Graf-x, a hat company, also known as www.zhats.com.  He is a successful entrepreneur and knows how to run a business.  He attended BYU and graduated from the Marriott School of Management like Kevin and I. Anybody who knows a business owner knows that it is not an easy task. Running a company is insanely hard and takes up a lot of time.  He always can see where the trends are going by observing consumers and staying current on market information.  His company currently has the first mover advantage on a big style (Snapbacks) right now thanks to my dads hard work and dedication because he knew it was coming.  His competitors are frantically trying to throw things together.  He also is a great graphic artist and has designed many of the logos you see on college hats.
-He loves being outdoors and enjoying nature. He loves camping and we used to go a lot in our old pop up camper. He also loves fly fishing and would do it everyday if he could. He likes to hike and explore the mountains. He also loves going up to Wyoming where his parents live and four wheeling, white water rafting, going to rodeos, as well as fishing and camping.  He also does a ton of the yard work (we have a few acres) and always puts on the best campfires.  He loves his John Deere mower.
-My dad loves tennis and he is the one who got our whole family into it. He taught me when I was in 8th grade and thought I for sure had no tennis ability whatsoever.  However, I took lessons, played Varsity tennis in high school, and competed in the Colorado State tennis tournament. Now, he knows I have a solid backhand. He is a really good tennis player and can beat anyone of us. We even have our own tennis courts because of him.
-David is funny and has his own sense of humor. Some people call it dry humor. Kevin and him both have the same kind of humor so it is funny when they are talking and laughing about things.  I guess I married someone like my dad!
-My dad likes great shows like Lost, The Office, & Modern Family. He actually got me into every one of those shows.
-David loves reggae music and if you ever want to know the best reggae music ask him. He grew up going to reggae concerts all over and in Hawaii.
-My dad is a worthy Priesthood holder in our church and served a 2 year mission in Tokyo, Japan. He is a dedicated church member and helps our family stay strong. He is still fluent in Japanese.  He makes the best Japanese food for us and he loves sushi. A few of us got him a sushi making kit for his last birthday.  He took us on a 2 week trip to Japan a few summers ago and it was amazing! We all LOVE Japan in this family.
-He is an avid sports fan and loves hockey (NHL) specifically the Colorado Avalanche. He loves BYU sports and of course that means he is a JIMMER fan. BYU Football and Basketball are his favorite. Oh, and same with BYU Baseball since that is who Kevin played for. He loves the Minnesota Twins as we used to live in Minnesota. He loves tennis and we went to the BNP Paribas Open a few years ago which was very fun.
There is more that I can say but that is just a little bit about my dad!
    Sloan0808__478
    I love you dad!
    You are the best!
PS. Remember when we went to a dance studio so we could learn a bomb Father Daughter dance for my wedding? Then we got there and the dance teacher was weird and teaching ballroom stuff we didn't want to do so we didn't ever go back? Haha.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

Remember when I was SO excited to go to the Harry Potter part of Universal Studios last week HERE?
    Well, this it it.
This may be every one's most anticipated blog post from me so it kind of puts a little pressure on me...ha.

My dad and I worked the business seminar last Thursday, June 16, 2011 (HERE and HERE) and as soon as we were done we drove right over to Universal Studios! This was my first time to Universal Studios! It was a hot and humid day in Florida but that wasn't going to stop me. We walked straight to the Harry Potter part, which was the opposite side of the entrance- how convenient. I was so excited haha and my dad knew it. The first thing that you come upon is the entrance to Hogsmeade.
Note: it says "Please Respect The Spell Limits"
    IMG_1162
[And yes, this post will have both camera and Instagram photos, so bear with me! And I have a lot of photos...it is kind of hard to explain things without photos here.]
These buildings and "little shops" were done incredibly. They had very extreme angles and looked downright awesome. There was fake snow -as you can see- all over the buildings and I kind of wish it was snowing because it was SO hot! Unfortunately a lot of these "little shops" were fake so you would just look in the windows and try to open the doors which wouldn't happen. They did have a few real stores, one of which was Honeydukes.  They also had little kiosks selling Butterbeer!
    P1100831
There are 3 rides in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter:
    1. A big roller-coaster where your feet hang with tons of flips.
I didn't go on this one because my dad didn't really want to and I wasn't going to ride it alone! I was fine with going on other rides but I'm sure this one would have been fun too!
    2. A smaller family friendly Hippogriff roller-coaster.
Hint: If you can sneak into the Express line, do it. But don't say you heard that from me :) It goes A LOT faster.
Anyways, do you see the hippogriff? It is like made of out wicker or something. This was a fun little roller-coaster. I was actually laughing the whole way.
    P1100853
    3. A simulation roller-coaster type ride within Hogwarts.
Here is Hogwarts where the simulation ride was! Amazing right?
    P1100833
This ride was probably the biggest attraction in the whole park. Actually I think if it weren't for the Harry Potter part of Universal Studios that the theme park would be going downhill.  Anyways, this simulation ride had the longest wait time so we decided to do it first so we wouldn't run out of time later. We waited for over an hour in the heat and man I lost a lot of the energy that I had when I was so excited. Oh and they make you put all of your stuff in lockers (they are free).
We finally got in the building! My dad took a ton of these photos for me and this is probably the best one! Harry, Ron, & Hermoine were telling us something here.
    IMG_1163
There were statues of famous wizards, "No Muggle" signs, skeletons of mystical creatures, lots of moving pictures, and Daily Prophet newspaper clippings with moving pictures!
Here is my dad and I just waiting to get on the ride! [Yes, my hair is crazy frizzy wavy with the humidity]
    P1100835
There were a ton of signs saying if you get nauseous in general do not ride! We finally get up to the place where you get on the ride and they had to stop the ride for a bit. Apparently someone just threw up right where you exit the ride. Sick. If you don't know me, I will do ANYTHING to not throw up (Proof HERE). I will gladly accept any kind of sickness other than the flu. Any who, so this poor girl had to clean up some selfish person's throw up (selfish that they didn't obey the signs...and still wanted to ride). Then a religious youth group cheered for that girl when she was done...hehe.

So we get on the ride and it was crazy! You sit in these chairs with your feet dangling so I would recommend wearing shoes that won't fall off OR sitting on them. I had flip flops so I sat on mine and they were fine. If you were to just put them next to you in your seat they would for sure fall out! You sit in these chairs and they lay you on your back, lay you on your stomach, spin you, and do all sorts of things. You do not flip though. You go through some parts where it is simulation like where you are flying through a Quidditch field or chasing dementors and such. I secretly tried to really feel like I was in Harry Potter with them and following Harry on a broomstick haha. It was pretty cool :)
Note: If you sit in the first chair (or the one all the way to the left when you are facing it) YOU WILL get sprayed in the face with smoke, steam, and water from a dragon! It will pick YOU out of the people in your "ride unit" and the dragon's face will get SUPER close to you and then blow steam in your face! Yep, this happened to me. I saw it coming for my face and it was interesting hehe. Also, I was closest to this creepy dementor.

Here I am in front of Hogwarts Express (a stationary one).
I am surprised they didn't even make this train a little ride for kids...I think Disney would have hehe.
    P1100857
Here is a side shot of Hogwarts.  I am on a bridge that takes you to a different part of the park. But wow what a view! I just loved looking at the whole Harry Potter set up.
It's funny but the background of Hogwarts almost looks fake. It is not.
    IMG_1164

    P1100850
To top it off, we ate dinner at Three Broomsticks.
We absolutely had Butterbeer & Pumpkin Juice! The Butterbeer tasted like a pure butterscotch drink with foam on top and the Pumpkin Juice tasted like apple cider actually. I ordered the Cornish Pasties and a side salad. I would probably not recommend that ha so order something different. So I am posing with my dad's food below!
    IMG_1166
And of course we had to visit the gift shops and get something Harry Potter!
We were totally going to get cloaks (nerd alert) but they were $100 each! Yeah right. Also the wands were freaking awesome (I liked Fleurs) however  it is a fancy piece of wood and what would I do with it? So I passed.
Fact: My dad and I have matching Harry Potter luggage tags! Yep. My dad has a Harry Potter luggage tag. He picked out Hufflepuff because he thinks the name is hilarious (also secretly I think because it matches his suitcase) and I picked out Gryffindor.
    IMG_1097
We also got matching Harry Potter t-shirts that say Quidditch Team on the back of them. Here is my Gryffindor shirt and my dad picked out a green Slytherin one! We wore these when we surprised Kevin in Omaha at the College World Series (more on that later).
     IMG_1091
Sorry this was SO long but how else could I write it? If you made it through, congrats!

    First Blog Award!

Last week in all of my busyness I received my first blog award - the Liebster Blog Award!
     award#1
Courtney Ash from Dear Darling nominated me and I highly recommend you click HERE to go visit her adorable blog. She is a beautiful girl who just moved to Chicago and blogs about her cute little life! I think she is hilarious and she kind of reminds me of myself...and she may or may not have mentioned that we were meant to be blogger buddies because we both say "Haha" and use tons of parentheses...But really she is a gorgeous and funny girl so go follow her! :) Thanks Courtney!

In the words of Courtney: the Liebster Blog Award was basically created to bring attention to those bloggers with fewer than 300 followers! Upon receiving this award you must link back to the the blogger who chose you and as well choose four more lovely bloggers!

There are so many incredible blogs that I have been discovering lately but I can only choose 4, so here are my nominees!

    1. Hayley from Silly Little Love.  She is a gorgeous east coast girl who is happily married to her best friend. They are one adorable couple! She writes about stylish outfits, yummy recipes, crafty things, and day to day happenings. She also has been following me for quite awhile now.

    2. Hannah from 17 Inch Heart.  Hannah is a pretty girl who is studying Graphic Design and Marketing and she is also from Colorado like me! So both from Colorado and both studying Marketing...love it. She has the prettiest pictures and has the cutest fashion style. She is basically adorable.

    3. Megan from Megan & Justin.  She is a pretty newlywed who joined me in the {30 Day} Photo Challenge and we are both going to finish/catch up hehe :) She has great style and I feel like I have a lot in common with her! She is a dog lover and such a cute girl.

SYTYCD: I wish I was a Jazz dancer...

    I love this dance.
I love this song by La Roux.
I wish I was this girl...she is amazing.
I wish I could dance like her. She has great extensions and lines.
Unfortunately my dance forte is opposite of this (clogging- kind of like tap).
Maybe she (Kaitlyn) will be a favorite?
    Go enjoy now.
PS. Start watching So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD).
    It. will. not. disappoint.
PPS. Please do not tell me who is eliminated from last week as I still have to watch that episode! Kthanksbye.

    Little Florida Business Trip!

My dad and I arrived in Orlando, Florida on Monday (HERE) for our little Zephyr hat business trip to work at the Collegiate Licensing Seminar (CLC) until Thursday! Zephyr was a sponsor of the CLC meaning we got a booth and was there to show our support for all of the college licensing directors and the CLC. The CLC is kind of the intermediary between the licensing directors and the company who is wanting to use the Notre Dame Fighting Irish logo (or whoevers logo). Both the university and the company kind of go through the CLC. Anyways, enough of that business talk.
    *Random fact:
I LOOOOVE promoting products and doing promotions!
Being a Marketing major somehow it is my thing. I did a few promotions when I worked at Urban Talent (a modeling/acting agency). Basically you study up the product and talk to anyone and everyone in a public place. You get a lot of rejection but I love learning the products, approaching, informing, persuading, and closing sales with consumers. I promoted Axe (mens body spray), Pond's facial towelettes and hooked up the buyers with free Mamma Mia movie tickets, and worked at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City.
ALSO, I loved talking to random business students in the Marriott School of Management convincing them to vote in the business student council elections, getting them to attend events for different business organizations, etc.
I seriously love working booths and convinced BYU students to join Folk Dance and to take a few minute surveys for my husband's entrepreneurial website...SO MUCH FUN! Okay enough. But ahh, it is so fun.

Here I am working the Zephyr booth. We gave out free Zephyr branded Snapbacks and stickers to licensing directors. We were not selling them anything but just showing support. It was a little different kind of a gig because normally I SELL!

My official badge so you know it was a real gig.

One evening after we worked the booth we hit up the pool outside. I went on a slide and my dad got an embarrassing video of it for Kevin; this will not be shown here hehe. Here I am about to head out to the pool.
EMERGENCY! My fedora got squished in my bag and is misshapen...I am SO annoyed!
Does anyone know how to make these types of hat go back to its original shape?

And here is a scene of the pool as I was reading The Host! Photo edited with my FIRST iPhone app purchase (Camera +).
Oh, and if you live in Fort Collins and want the BEST pedicure/manicure go see Mindy at Kim's Nails... she is a lifelong friend and she did my pretty toes here :) And on my wedding!

Probably my next post will be on the HARRY POTTER theme park!!! We shall see!
I literally have SOOO many topics I could write on; it is basically the opposite of writer's block. Anyone else with me here?
    HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
