Guest Post: DIY Garland by Lissa C. from Me & Mr. C

We have another amazing, easy, affordable, and cute DIY project for you from the wonderful
Lissa C. from Me & Mr. C
Take it away Lissa!

Hey! My name is Lissa C. and today, I am going to tell you how to make a garland.

Step One!
Buy cute paper! Or felt! Or fabric!
Step One
Step Two!
Pick up your favorite pair of scissors (mine have orange handles) and go to town.
Step Two
Step Three!
Pick out ribbon, yarn, or fishing wire to thread your material together.
I made this garland for a photo shoot, so fishing wire it was!
Step Three
Step Four!
Start sewing!
Step Four
Step Five!
While sewing make sure that, when you have a design that needs to hang a certain way, your garland isn't top heavy. The next photo is a bad example of where your thread should be. I made this garland really late at night without much thought and had to restring everything last minute so that my hearts wouldn't be upside down.
Step Five
Step Six!
Leave an excess amount of thread on both sides of your string. Hang your garland in your desired location, pull it as tight or loose as you want, and, after it's secured, spread your shapes equal amounts apart from one another. And that's it! You're done! Here is what I did with mine:
Step Six
These little babies can be hung anywhere- on walls, over your bed, on trees, even across the ceiling. They are easy, cheap, super trendy, and awesome. Enjoy!
P.S. You can read about me, my husband, our baby, and my love for all things photographic here.
