The Wife Life by Alexis from Alexis Laughs

*Hey hey! Alexis, from Alexis Laughs, is our last guest poster! She is hilarious, adorable, and is friends with one of my real life best friends, so she rocks. With that said, why don't you read on!*

Let's get down to the nitty gritty. I'm kind of weird. Don't worry, you'll get used to it. Or you won't. There's really only two options.
Anyway.
Are you a wife? Well, I am. I love it. It's probably my #1 hobby.
Here's me and my #1 husband
[for the record, I only have one]
Helloooooo blackmail.
[he was taking these pictures making fun of Myspace, the trashy Facebook. I'm just out of camera range.]

And here's a normal picture of him on that day I trapped him into the ol' ball and chain.

And here's another.
 And another:
Okay, now I'm just showing off. Can you blame me? WOWza I got a handsome husband.

Alright. So it's Ashley's anniversary, well it was a few months ago and she attended one this past weekend! YAY Ashley! I've been married for about 4 months and 1 week, which basically makes me an expert on this marriage business. I'm going to lend some of my knowledge to you.

#1: Looks are important. Let's be real. You're going to be waking up to that face for forever. Okay, so this is 74% joking.
#2: Marriage isn't about being perfect for each other. Marriage is about being supportive to each other through the imperfections and crappy days. This one is 100% serious.
#3: Fairy tales exist. Not the kind in Disney movies. The real life kind are much better.
#4: It doesn't matter how stressed you are, clean the dang house! Really, it'll make both of you more stressed out. Not worth it.
#5: Not everything I make is going to be Clint's new favorite dinner that he's raving about for weeks. And fine. He can put salt on it. If it really needs it. ;)
#6: Set aside the time for just the two of you. It's so important. And I'm not talking you're on the couch and on your computer and he's on his phone half watching a movie together.
#7: Play together. Once a weird techno song came on through my iPod. What did I do, ran through our apartment and turned off the lights and grabbed my glow sticks and we had a rave. AWESOME. Our neighbors probably think we're on something with how much laughter they've got to hear coming in through their walls. [not to self: make neighbors cookies so they don't hate us.]
#8: Remember your commitment. Once we got in a fight. I know, crazy right? Newlyweds never do that. Well, it was a silly fight but I was upset. I looked over at our wedding pictures on the wall and my heart melted as I remembered the commitment we made to each other, and God, to always honor and love each other. Nothing else mattered.

Well, I was going to write more, but I think that one is just perfect to end on.

Thank you so much for having me Ashley! I think you're the sweetest! :)

*Wasn't she great? Alexis really cracks me up and I feel like we are the same person sometimes, with how we write! Okay maybe she writes better but I feel like we have the same style! With all of her great tips, I think I have some things I should work on...and I want to do that! GO check out her blog here! I have been following her blog for months now and I just love it! You will not be disappointed*

  5. Totally agree with you Alexis! (like you didn't already know that, haha) Your tips are perfect. Sometimes it's easy to be wrapped up in yourself and what the other person "did to you" but in the end the real question is "Does this REALLY matter? Is this of eternal importance?"
    :)
