Kev & I are homeless and have NO place to live!!! It sucks when you don't live in Provo to take a look at the apartments/condos/hole in the walls/whatever they are. We have looked online but it is pretty much pointless because we're not going to tell someone we want it if we haven't seen it and by the time we get to Provo they'll be gone or they are deleted a couple days later.

Basically, if you know of any housing that allows pets that is cheap, hook a girl up! Preferably if rent is in the $500-$700 that is a possibility.

We'll be back in Provo August 23rd! So 1 week before school starts we'll be here... to look at housing, hope the person moves out of where we look and decide we want (if we can find any), and move in! Man I am getting really stressed about this. So if you hear anyone in your ward who is moving...or anything let me know!

Here is what we are thinking:
  • 1+ bedrooms
  • 1+ bathrooms (whatev)
  • PET FRIENDLY (Obvi. Katinka is our baby- this is the hardest part about finding housing)
  • Location: Close-ish to campus. It would be nice to bike maybe?
  • Quality: no mold, floodings, insane amount of bugs, basically up to code would be awesome.
  • Washer/Dryer in unit OR W/D hookups (we got a ghetto set for real cheap thanks to Craigslist)
  • Dishwasher would be marvelous

So Kevin and I did probably one of the most spontaneous things we have ever done.
We just randomly booked a flight to...
(August 6-9th, 2010)
 to see Ben & Amanda
for our 2nd Anniversary, August 8th!
Why? Because we had BOTH acquired a free round-trip flight thanks to Southwest Rapid Rewards and mine expires that weekend. And Ben & Amanda are there for the summer so we'll be staying with them. Ben is working for Senator Hatch and Amanda is nannying. So it will be a lot of fun! Kev & I both haven't been to Washington DC. And it is our 2nd anniversary weekend! So we're pumped and honestly we didn't even think about it like not more than 30 minutes. Get ready Amanda (you may read this post ha :))

Cliff Jumping

Kevin is not afraid to do anything. He is a thrill seeker. I am not. So he jumped off a 70 foot cliff (at Table Rock Lake). He did this before when he was younger.  Apparently you can get some narly bruises if you go in wrong.  Anyways, I would NEVER do that. Maybe if I was strapped into something. Maybe. And for money. Or clothes.
So Kevin & I canoed over to the cliff and here he is starting the hike up the back of the cliff.
Kevin up at the top looking down at me!!! Do you see him?
Okay do you see him now? Look at the white circle/sun spot and look down a little. You will see a little head poking over the top of the cliff.
And he jumped off the cliff.
And this is the cliff. It's the tallest part at the top on the left.  If you look down about 40 feet there is a little cave that some other people jump off, which is about 30. So he jumped off of it. And there is a big bird up there haha.
Kevin and I back in the canoe paddling back to the dock.
Who all has jumped off cliffs? And how high? I know my sister has done some maybe 60-70 feet in Hawaii.

Table Rock Lake - Part 2

So who is good at wake-boarding and/or water-skiing? Not me. Well maybe I'll be decent at skiing if I could stay up.  This the second post of our little weekend get-away at Table Rock Lake. This is the first post.  So I have tried water-skiing once in very cold water and the skiis were huge and that didn't work out. And I tried wake-boarding once and I don't remember much but I couldn't get up haha. So we tried again.
Kevin got in the water to help coach me which I think was very helpful.  I just need to hold on longer and get a better angle and basically just get up haha.
Then I tried skiing which was a lot better although the skiis were huge and kept coming off.  I actually got a huge bruise alongside one of my legs from it falling off and me holding onto the rope and flying over the skiis.  But I did get up ONCE. Haha. I was surprised because I didn't expect to get up and I let go. But I think I could get the hang of it if I had smaller skiis that wouldn't fly off.
And Kevin is pretty good...of course!
Kevin after he finished wake-boarding. I love him.
Kathy wakeboarding!!! Such a natural.
Tubing with Kev. My life jacket was hilarious. It was a canoeing one.
Greg & Kathy tubing!
It started pouring rain during the day (but you can't see it in the picture) and so Kevin & I jumped off the dock!
I love Kevin. :)

Table Rock Lake - Part 1

Kevin's parents invited us to go visit some relatives at Table Rock Lake, Missouri.  We visited Kathy's cousin Silvia and husband Tom, and their new Weimarer (dog breed) named Harley.  Table Rock Lake is in southern Missouri and it is even more hot and humid than Kansas City.  This was our first little vacation since we moved here to Missouri and it was very fun! We were there from Thursday, June 24th to Sunday, June 27th.  Thursday evening, right after we got there, we took a little ride on the boat.
We brought Katinka in on the boat and I held her so she wouldn't slide all over on the bottom of the boat. Her tongue grew a little bit (panting) since we moved to Missouri since it is so humid and hot! It is kind of weird hahaha.

My lovely hubby!
Obviously when your boating it is super windy when your at the front of the boat and Katinka's hair was going CRAZY! It was so hilarious! Ah I love her.
Me and Tinkas (look at her hair lol)
Harley and Katinka running off the dock! Katinka thinks she is friends with all dogs even if they are huge or mean, she doesn't care haha!
I think it was Friday night after a day on the boat, that we went to Dock 'n' Eat for dinner. In order to get to Dock 'n' Eat you have to drive your  boat there and dock it! It was a fun little place!
Here is Dock 'n' Eat! We're pulling up on the boat! I got a Taco Salad and we all had Sweet Potato fries which were really good!
There were turtles in the water!
Here we are right after dinner!
Here is a lotus flower in front of their house! It was sooo cool! Has anyone seen one of these? They are potted in a pot that is placed in a bigger pot full of water.  The petals close during the night and open during the day. I just think they are pretty!
There were quite a few neighborhood dogs.  Katinka met a neighbor named Hector. It was funny because Hector would roam the neighborhood and we would see him randomly.
Harley taking a walk and Katinka was following him. Harley was starting to lead Katinka too far away so we had to go get them haha.
Anyways, I separated this into 2 parts because I hate writing really long posts because I feel like it is out of control, plus it is harder to format! So check out part 2 once I write/post it! :)

Little bit of KC

Here are some pictures of a few things Kevin & I have been doing in Kansas City, Missouri this summer:
Going to church...
Hanging out with Anna (sister-in-law)...
Hanging out with Katinka...

Shouldn't she be a dog model? She has a great figure, look, and will look at the camera when you say her name haha!!!
Okay here is a series of shots that I love/make me laugh:
Kevin being goofy...
He wasn't cheerleading or cheering or anything but I caught this pic of him and he looks like he is ha
Swimming at the neighborhood pool...
 Katinka getting her first haircut...
And the groomer put cute pink bows in her hair :) Although it ripped out a bunch of her hair when I took them out because they got tangled. Poor Tinka!
That is just a few things that we have done here in KC, MO for the summer!!!
 More to come!

So you may or may not have noticed but I have been REALLY slacking on blogging recently. I have to catchup so expect a lot of posts. I just got back into the country from Europe for 2 weeks so I definately want to blog!!!

And incase you were wondering, I don't have a phone. It broke the end of June and my dad is waiting for the new 4G iPhone (in white) to get in stock so he will buy that and give me his old iPhone 3GS. SO it really sucks not having a phone but yes, if you need to contact me you can facebook me or email me at ashleysloan7@gmail.com

So here comes a lot of posts!!! (Hopefully, unless I get too busy...ha!)
